How To Know You Need Anxiety Counseling

With our daily struggle of post traumatic stress disorder, social phobia, or any other types of anxiety disorder, we usually believe that just getting by each day is enough. We say to ourselves as long as things do not get out of my control, then I can simply get over it, but how do you know when your anxiety is enough? When do you know you should go to anxiety counseling?
Now this is an extremely important question to ask yourself because even if you have a good understanding about anxiety and know how to control it, sometimes you still need the help to overcome it. You may say to yourself that you can easily rely on a good friend or family member to help through tough days, but what if that person(s) are not there on a day you really need them?
Below you will find ten signs to look for to see if you need to see an anxiety counselor:
1. You are consuming drugs or alcohol to cope.
2. Experiencing high degrees of irritation and anger.
3. Grieving from lost of a loved one or relationship issues.
4. Experienced physical or emotional trauma.
5. Uncontrollable crying and constant feeling of the blues.
6. Anxiety has taken over and is stopping you from doing things you normally do.
7. Doctors do not understand your symptoms.
8. If you have done every solution and still feel the same after months or years after.
9. Cannot get out of your mental rut.
10. Low self esteem and confidence issues.
You need to understand that there are hundreds if not thousands of other people that are feeling the same as you are and have taken the initiative to go to anxiety counseling. Typically, after the first month of seeing a counselor you should begin to feel a lot of weight lifted off of your shoulders. So it really can be beneficial to go see a trained professional not only to evaluate you and your thoughts, but also to provide guidance and a sympathetic ear.
