Ottawa's Most Haunting Places

Carleton County Jail is now the International Youth Hostile. It is also known for having the last hanging in Canada. The hanging was of innocent P.J. Whalen who was accused of murder of the Irish politician Thomas D'Arcy Mcgee. This is an extremely haunted place in Ottawa. Each Halloween the board hangs a dummy and it is said that the gallows doors opening is one of the most horrible sounds imaginable. Chateau Laurier is an enormous hotel that has numerous of haunting's going on throughout the year. Many Ottawa Weddings take place here and guests have said they had many experiences with ghosts. They hold haunted tours every once in a while.

It is said that at the Courtyard Restaurant
there is often a woman that looks out the second floor windows. When staff closes up for the night they heard a lot of footsteps and have seen to be a person. A theory stated that the women had been trapped in a building fire.

Museum at Metcalfe Street has been said that late at night on the 4th flour, the Indian and native masks rotate that are displayed and lights turn on and off. Many security men have refused to do work on the fourth floor.






Perth Museum was home of a prosperous family in Perth. Late at night many caretakers and Customers have reported seeing ghosts of family that once lived in the home.
