Website almost finished...now what?

My website is fairly close to being completely finished and I have been asked a few times how am I going to get visitors to your site and let people know who you are. I was a little stumbled by what they asked, so I asked the people who are making my site and they said they offer Toronto SEO where they can target keywords for your site. Just curious if this is a good way to go and if their are any disadvantages?
